Peninsula Labrador, Canada

The story goes that in 1780 a missionary, from the peninsula Labrador (Canada), found gray pepples with a colorful shine during his walk. He gathered the pepples and was so impressed with them that he named them Labradorite.

Labradorite is a gray stone which, if you move it slowly, shows all kind of colors like yellow, blue, green or sometimes even reddish and purplish colors. This phenomena is called labradorescence.
